Double G Farm Wins Best Overall at Madison County Wild Game Cook-Off

Gator Bites with Creole Sauce, Venison Diane and White Cheddar Grits and Tennessee River Burgers and Tacos were just a few of the tasty dishes found at the Alabama Wildlife Federation Wild Game Cook-Off and Silent Auction last Thursday at the Huntsville Botanical Garden! Double G Farm captured the top prize of "Best Overall," with their scrumptious Cajun Crappie, and will be invited to the state finals held at Lanark in Millbrook in August 8, 2015 to compete for the title of AWF 2015 Wild Game Cook-Off State Champion. 

Terry Gibson stated, "It was a lot of fun and we are looking forward to next year. This was the first time we have ever cooked in a event like this and really had a great time seeing everyone and sharing stories after hunting season. We were glad everyone enjoyed the Cajun Crappie."
 
The judges definitely had it rough, but in the end Double G Farm, including Diego Gimenez, Terry Gibson, Seth Guffey, Lee Bain and Steven Giles were named the "Best."

Fish Division: First Place – Double G Farm Double G Farm, including Diego Gimenez, Terry Gibson, Seth Guffey, Lee Bain and Steven Giles cooking Cajun Crappie; Second Place – Bootlegg BBQ including Mike, Kedia and Chassity Page cooking Tennessee River Burgers & Tacos; Third Place – Garber Construction & Co. including Harry Garber, Jerry Holland, Scott McMichael and Dave Ryals cooking Shrimp & Cheese Grits.
 
Fowl Division: First Place – Bushwackers including Steven Hoyt, Joe Wissman, Pat Vining and Steve Kennamer cooking Gator Bites with Creole Sauce; Second Place – Double G Farm Double G Farm, including Diego Gimenez, Terry Gibson, Seth Guffey, Lee Bain and Steven Giles cooking  Double G Duck; Third Place – Whiskey River including Ray Maranda, Bubba Conner and Josh Conner cooking Wing Shooter Empanadas.
 
Game Division: First Place – Whiskey River including Ray Maranda, Bubba Conner and Josh Conner cooking Venison Diane and White Cheddar Grits; Second Place – Four Porksmen including Ryan Waller, Allen McCall, Jody Witt and Nick Marino cooking Boo’s Bangkok Boar; Third Place – Distressed Does including Raymon Haley, Michael Hulsey, Donald Perry and Jon Alton Haley cooking Maple Glazed Caribou.
 
1st Place Presentation Award went to Team Avatar, while Bushwackers took home Best Presentation Runner-Up.
