The Discovery Hall is a walk-through educational tour of Alabama's natural history and its four physiographic regions. Spotlighted are the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta, the state's National Forests, many of Alabama's rivers and waterways, longleaf pine forests, prairies, and much more. There is a walk-in beehive where visitors learn about the importance of our local pollinators. Guests can step inside our Raptor Kiosk to explore the sights and sounds of Alabama's biggest and most beautiful birds of prey. A large, walk-through cave exhibit showcases Alabama's remarkable abundance of caves and the creatures within them. Some of the storyboards feature unique species in our state; frogs, birds, mussels, fish, and much more!  Tables in the center of the room display touchable items such as skins, skulls, and shells.

The NaturePlex is open 6 days/week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  .
