Connecting Alabama's Biodiversity and Learning using your Outdoor Classroom and iNaturalist

  • Learn how to use the plants and animals around your school's campus to stimulate learning opportunities with your students!
  • Learn how to identify the fauna and flora found in your outdoor classroom using field identification guides that your students will enjoy using!
  • Get new outdoor learning station ideas that will increase the biodiversity in the outdoor classroom!
  • Participiate in activities that address the new Alabama Science Course of Study!
  • Participate in a citizen science project called a BioBlitz using the iNaturalist.org website!
Target Audience:  Educators & Volunteers who work with schools enrolled in the Alabama Outdoor Classroom Program    

CEUs:  5.5 Hours

Dates & Locations:
Friday, Oct. 27 at the Mobile Co. Extension Office (Mobile) 
Thursday, Nov. 2 at  the Huntsville Botanical Gardens (Huntsville)  
Friday, Nov. 10 at Alabama Nature Center (AWF-Millbrook)  

Time: 9 am - 3 pm

Cost: $10 for lunch
