Alabama Hunting and Fishing Conservation Alliance

Representatives from conservation organizations in Alabama with hunting and fishing as an integral part of their conservation mission formed the Alabama Hunting and Fishing Conservation Alliance (AHFCA) in the spring of 2000 as a means to increase hunting and fishing recruitment, participation, and retention.

The participating organizations have common interests in hunting, fishing, and wildlife and natural resource conservation which provide tremendous opportunity for collective work on items of
common priority to increase overall effectiveness.

Mission

To maintain the strong tradition of and participation in hunting and fishing in Alabama by working to identify issues and opportunities of common priority and serving as a catalyst for coordinated action.

Goals

The AHFCA will study, discuss, and identify appropriate action items on consensus subject matter related to hunting and fishing issues, wildlife and fisheries habitat conservation, and natural resource conservation in general provided that it directly relates to hunting and fishing.

Priorities

1) Enhance the image of hunting and fishing;
2) Increase hunting and fishing recruitment, participation and retention;
3) Increase hunting and fishing access and opportunity.
