JUDGE BEVERLY BASHAM Beverly Basham is an award winning wildlife artist with a wide and varied interest in wildlife and conservation. A “woodsman” from an early age, Beverly credits family walks in the forests for piquing her interest in the great outdoors from childhood on, hiking through woods and fields in search of wildlife, morels and blackberries. “I still enjoy looking for the wildlife and blackberries,” she says wistfully.
Beverly received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts from Athens University. Combining these fields of learning made for an early interest in wildlife art, and she painted her first wildlife piece for a state game warden in her early twenties. Since then she has painted countless works of art that are in public and private collections across the country and has won awards and acclaim for her work. She has also served as president of the North Alabama Audubon Society, done volunteer work at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge, served as chairman of the Southern Wildlife Festival for 20 years and participates in various art shows and competitions.
