Trailer Park Gourmets Wins Best Overall at AWF Selma Wild Game Cook-Off

Nachos de Cammeron, Bourbon Pepper Jelly Glazed Pheasant and Doe N Heat were just a few of the tasty dishes found at the Alabama Wildlife Federation Wild Game Cook-Off and Silent Auction Thursday, October 29, 2015, at the Historic St. James Hotel in Downtown Selma. With 22 cook teams and over 600 members and guests in attendance, Trailer Park Gourmets including Allen Nicholls, Shelley Nicholls, Michael Buntin, Chris McKee and Channing Cantrell captured the top prize of "Best Overall," with their scrumptious Duck Au Vin. They will be invited to the state finals held at Lanark in Millbrook on August 6, 2016 to compete for the title of AWF 2016 Wild Game Cook-Off State Champion. 
 
While Trailer Park Gourmets won Best Overall, they certainly weren’t the only team serving up good food at the event. Other winners included:
 
Fish Division: First Place – Chonita’s Cookers consisting of Mark McGrady, Severa McGrady, Jasmine Welcher, Angel Davis, Joey Davis and Wendi Brown cooking Nachos de Cammeron; Second Place – Serial Grillers consisting of Richie Spain, Jennifer Spain, Chase Kelly and Lori Kelly cooking L.A. Shrimp Creole; Third Place – Peppertree Pit Crew consisting of Jeff Verner, John Mosley, Jamie Martin and Amber Lehman cooking Crawfish Boudin Balls.
 
Fowl Division: First Place – Trailer Park Gourmets consisting of Allen Nicholls, Shelley Nicholls, Michael Buntin, Chris McKee and Channing Cantrell cooking Duck Au Vin; Second Place – Southeastern Land Group consisting of Jonothon Goode, Drew McLendon, Whitney Goode and Kelly McClendon cooking Bourbon Pepper Jelly Glazed Pheasant; Third Place – The Johnson Crew consisting of Don Johnson, Sharon Johnson, Dillon Johnson and Barry Mitchell cooking Quail Chips.
 
Game Division: First Place – Team Pepsi consisting of Jeremy Ross, Michael Ross, Mark McElhaney and Cheyanne Bradford cooking Doe N Heat; Second Place – Trustmark National Bank consisting of Lee Calame, Andy Stewart, Robbie Rose and Keith Dismukes cooking Deer Wraps/Buck Meatballs; Third Place – Serial Grillers consisting of Richie Spain, Jennifer Spain, Chase Kelly and Lori Kelly cooking Deer in a Hog Trap.
 
Youth Division: First Place – Baby C consisting of Isaah Mesa, Bella Tucker, Peyton Owens and Paige Davis cooking Long Beard Nachos.
 
Best Presentation went to Chonita's Cookers while Marion Bank & Trust won Best Presentation Runner-Up.
 
In addition to the great food, there was a silent auction, raffle and entertainment provided by Paul Garner.
