View Ornamamental Plant List

This category replaces the “Naturalized Ornamental” category from prior years.  With this category, it is AWF’s desire to pay tribute to Isabel D. Hill, who upon her death left the Lanark property to AWF.  The Lanark gardens and grounds represent Mrs. Hill’s lifelong labor of love, and we want to honor her work through your art. We have developed a list of some of the ornamental plants that can be found at Lanark, and ask that if you enter a work in this category that you choose from this list.  Other ornamental plant species that are not native to Alabama will not be considered.

** Paintings must be two dimensional on canvas or paper and can be done in oil, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, and gouache.  Also accepted: drawings in pencil, pastels, pen & ink, and mixed media.  No digital media, photography, prints or reproductions.
** Three dimensional works in sculpture or carvings may be wood, stone, clay or metal.
** Artwork must be for sale.
