Get up close and personal with live animals as our animal curator shares where they live and what they eat. You will also have the opportunity to get hands-on with turtles, snakes, frogs, and salamanders.

Hike out to one of our ponds and corral critters with net nets along the bank. Take time afterwards to look at all of your finds!

Gather around our fire pit behind the NaturePlex and make S’mores (supplies provided).

Hike down to and splash around in Still Creek and explore the wonderful world of running water; the creatures that live there and how it carves the land.

Learn how to identify animals by their tracks, skulls, and signs. Do some tracking and create track casts of your own while you’re on a nature hike in the woods.  

Use clues to hunt for treasures and critters in our hands-on Discovery Hall. (Ages 8 and under)

Fish for catfish and bream in one of our ponds using cane poles (provided) or your own rod and reel. Catch and release only. 

Search for insects above and below ground out on our trails. Find the tiniest of creatures in our big world!

Birthday party can enjoy a movie of their choice (appropriate ratings) in our 120-seat theater. Popcorn and bottled water allowed but not provided.

A themed hike based on your child’s interests. Focusing on animal homes, birding, insects, plant and wildlife identification, or water features. 

Hit the trails to flip logs and search streams for slippery and slimy, camouflaged and tiny amphibian friends.

Use clues to hunt for treasures and critters on one of our trails. (Ages 8 and under)

Guest Policy:
Parties are limited to 20 guest participants, each additional guest fee is $25 up to 25 guests.

Alabama Nature Center staff reserve the right to end any of the scheduled activity programs at any time pending severe weather or if the safety of our Nature Center staff, facility, or educational animals are compromised. Nature Center staff also reserve the right to end any activity programs in which guest’s behavior prevents staff from facilitating agreed upon party activities.

• You may arrive 30 minutes prior to your party time to decorate.
• The party room must be cleaned up completely 30 minutes after your scheduled party time ends.

• Monday – Friday: Earliest start time is 2pm
• Saturday: Earliest start time is 9am, latest start time is 2pm.

• Non-refundable $50 booking fee is due at the time of scheduling. Booking fee will go toward the total fee. Remainder of payment is due at time of the party.
• Party can be rescheduled without penalty if it is rescheduled no later than 14 days prior to the party.
• You MUST speak to a Nature Center employee to cancel a reservation. We cannot guarantee your cancellation if you only leave a voicemail or send an email.
• In the case of inclement weather, we will work with you to select a weather appropriate program. The Nature Center will alert you if we feel the weather is too severe to continue the party.
